Hi Woodstock!
I hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful safe and happy Spring Break. I really miss seeing you all each week. I'll be posting optional projects each week if you'd like to join me in some creative art making while at home.
I wanted to invite you to join me in a community art project from home called the Rainbow Connection project! All over the world people are starting to put a rainbow in their window in hopes of spreading cheer around their neighborhoods. People are using the rainbows as a scavenger hunt while they go on safe walks to walk their dog or just get some fresh air. Cities like Brooklyn, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Milan, Paris, Moscow, Mumbai, and Tokyo have all participated! You can view the Portland map in the link below and even add your home if you'd like. I'm hoping to see a lot more rainbows pop up in the next few weeks!
Your assignment is to create a rainbow and put it up in your window. Start to look around your neighborhood and see if other Woodstock students in your neighborhood are participating! Your rainbow can be a drawing, painting, collage or any type of rainbow you wish to create. I made a video using watercolors and a coffee filter if you want to follow along and give that project a try. If you want to share what you made I'd love to see it, please post a picture. You'll see my example at the end of the video in my window at home.
**If you don't have watercolors or food dye, you can color with markers and spritz with a spray bottle!
Have fun and enjoy creating! 🌈

Of course!! Specialist were asked to hold off a week or two until all other teachers and families were more settled in to using the technology. This project will be up in a week or two for all students to contribute! Looks like the video I made didn't load, so I'm reposting it through a youtube link. Love the picture of Arden!! <3 So glad to see you are doing well. - Miss Candace
So happy for a project to do! Thank you, Miss Candace!
